Shelby County Schools Reviews
I admired how Shelby County Schools always stayed up to date with technology in the world and equipped students for their future professions. For example, SCS offered vocational classes for those aspiring to go to trade schools and become future cosmetologists. We also had a high rate of STEM students who competed on national levels. Additionally, our performing arts realm of students were phenomenal. They attended schools, such as Overton High School or Germantown High, who were deemed as schools of The Creative and Performing Arts. Ultimately, I enjoyed my time as a intern for C19 TV /88.5 FM this summer through the internship of Shelby County Schools. Many students throughout the district applied for the SCS internship and were partnered with organizations that were apart of their passion or either future major in college.
My experience with Shelby County schools has its ups and downs. I like the environment I’m around! The people, the cultural differences, and the diversity around the school. I have met many people that I thought I would never come across. It has been a great experience as far as that. As for the administration “enforcing” Shelby county Schools “policies” is where it goes downhill. Some policies they try to hard to enforce and that makes the school not want to participate in certain activities, but other than Shelby county schools are great!
I am honored to have switched over from Memphis City Schools to Shelby County Schools while still in school. This is my last year in high school and I assure you that I am ready for college. The policies of SCS (Shelby County Schools) are helping kids advance. With the world having new technologies , Shelby County Schools are allowing their students to get more involved and keeps them up on the latest technology. This being a public school district, its a very good one! I would take this over a private school any day.
