Sheboygan Area School District Reviews
Sheboygan Area School District is a very organized district; there's no doubt about that. I live in the outskirts of the district, in fact, I live in a different county. It is for this reason that I almost feel like an outsider looking in on the Sheboygan Community. This might allow me to give a more thorough evaluation of the school district itself. Sheboygan Area school district recently switched superintendents and there have not been any drastic changes. This in itself, I believe, is a great achievement. However, Sheboygan Area School District has also become more strict in their testing and procedures. Sometimes, it seems as if testing is more important than education and the wellbeing of the students to the Sheboygan Area School District. However, the opportunities at my school, Sheboygan North High School, are immense and interesting. I'm happy with my experience at North and I wouldn't want to be enrolled anywhere else.
Throughout the years of being in the Sheboygan Area School district I have grown and developed into the person I am today. Transitioning from elementary, middle, then high school, I have always had the teachers who love to teach and strive to prepare us to be the future. The SASD excels in offering different clubs and activities for any interest a student may have. College readiness is an aspect teachers start preparing us for as freshman, the dependability, punctuality, and responsibility are aspects they focus on heavily.
In general, the Sheboygan Area School District hasn't been bad. The teachers and their knowledge on the subjects they teach is great. However, it seems like there are problems with the administration and their decisions sometimes. For example, this year, the days got extended instead of just adding more days to the end of the year. Many teachers and students were upset by this. Instead of doing this, they should have taken a survey of what the teachers and students in the district would like. They did not take the opinion of others involved in the matter and instead just made the decision.
