The high school has very poor security. I was in a different state for my elementary and middle school and we had better security than this. In middle school if you wanted in you needed to be buzzed in and all doors were locked except when staff opened it at the beginning to let students in. I mainly hear "College will only be harder" but not really any ways to prepare for college. Neither the academic side or social side of college. The teachers are generally very good and like what they do and they want to teach. They can have the students very engaged and most classrooms are more at ease than so thick with tension. Sports seems to take precedent over other things, like drama. The football team is the center of sports which is ironic because everyone is more shocked if they actually win than lose. They do have clubs but they are only really represented at a single event that last a weekend, and, from my own experience, not many care for it except club members.

At my current high school, we have a very inclusive and welcoming community of about 140 students. The teachers here truly care about the students, and just recently my school was rated highest by students for having at least one teacher they can go to in a district-wide survey. However, I haven't attended any other high schools in the district, but from my experiences throughout elementary and middle school, I can say for certain that our superintendent cares about the students and wants us to perform well.
My experience as a North High student has been great. As a senior, I feel that I am very well prepared for college and beyond. Like anything in life, you must make it what you want to be. Teachers are always available and willing to give you extra help if you need it. The variety of clubs, teams and organizations ensures that everyone can find something to join and enjoy. Everyone is friendly and supportive of one another which makes for a very caring environment!
