My school is Shawnee Mission North. I love my school. There are so many opportunities, so much diversity, so much love, we're just a big family. The teachers/staff care about your education. They want you to succeed. The effort the time they put in their students is unbelievable, it makes you feel like they actually care about not just you but your future. Freshman year they already start talking you to colleges, start teaching you how to get in,what you need and i love it! It helps to feel prepared. At North you will never feel left out. You will ALWAYS find that group of people that makes you feel like you belong. Of course its not all perfect and its going to be stressful and its going to be tough but the experience in high school the memories those are unforgettable. When you're stressed in school or don't understand something there is always people willing to help you out and teach you the way you learn best. I love my school, I love my family. I am proud to be an Indian.

The support and encourment given by teachers, especially the those in the special education department is funomonal! The only change that should be made is the way the district spends their funds. Highschools are getting televisions and coffee bars instaled and built, but the district never has the money to repair the bathroom doors with faulty locks.
At Shawnee Mission South I notice academically we excel in a lot of things but it never gets noticed but when are sports team goes 1-9 everyone is says "Better luck next year". More money gets put into sports than actual school work and it's prevalent. A lot of things that the school advertises just looks good too! The computers, the front of the school, the newest equipment for sports but none of it actually works. We hardly win any games, computers only work 60% of the time it seems, and the inside of the school still looks like it did 25 years ago. The outside only makes it look modern. But the teachers are what make up that school and I would say most of them actually care about there students education.
