Teachers at Shaler Area High School are great. At the beginning of the year, they provide clear course synopses so all students understand what is expected of them. They keep their lectures clear & understandable so students can efficiently take notes. They are always available for questions or tutoring. They are truly interested in every student succeeding. Each student has access to computers & his/her own IPAD.

Shaler Area High School offers a great up-to-date curriculum & advanced classes. The school offers a library, art & music rooms, auditorium, labs, computer rooms & sports facilities. Students can choose among many activities such as sports, clubs, choir, theater productions & dances.

Support staff, particularly guidance counselors, are very helpful in educating students on all aspects involved with college & their futures.

I believe that Shaler Area High School has provided—and continues to provide—- me with an outstanding education & preparation for my future.

Our performing arts department has won numerous awards, locally as well as nationally. We even performed in the magic kingdom parade this past April. We have wonderful passionate directors that do everything they can for their students. They want us to achieve our fullest potential and not only make us greater musicians, but better people too! This year we had an award given to us that was only given to 500 schools across the nation for their music program. We also put on elaborate stage productions. At Shaler we also have a wide variety of clubs and activities. Our teachers care for each and everyone of us and they always do what is best for their kids.
Shaler was very good to me and to other students. Every school has some teachers that don't seem to care and Shaler Area is no exception, however the majority of teachers seem to truly care about the success of their students. They get to know you on a professional and personal level. I still remember my kindergarten teacher showing up to my dance recital when I was little to cheer my classmates and myself on. My Computer teacher got to know me over every year of my high school career and helped me through many obstacles. My Economics teacher was so involved with his lectures and volunteered as the senior class sponsor every year. My AP English teacher taught me how to stay organized and be successful. She told me that in order to get an A, I should strive to do more than what is asked of me. This has helped me so much in college. My academic advisor was very helpful and answer any and all questions I had about college. It was a good experience.
