According to TXSchools.gov, the overall rating of Seguin ISD is a "C" all the way across the board. The tax burden on property owners in Guadalupe county is frightening...last time I checked, the county had the fifth highest taxes in the whole state...and 77% of those taxes go to the schools. Yet what do they do with the money? Buy a jumbotron for the football field is one thing! Unbelievable. And now they want even more, so they can rebuild the football field and a bunch of their facilities. Seems to me the focus should be on academics, not sports. But we're all about the "Friday Night Lights" in Texas, to the overall detriment of the academic programs. Sad, but true.

What I like about Seguin ISD is the large variety of help all students get. There really is no reason for students to be struggling, there is help everywhere you look. Every teacher here truly does care about you. However I would like there to be more pro-active administrators or staff when students go to them about a certain situation about anything such as bullying, home problems, etc. it is something that has slightly improved but needs more work.
Ultimately, I enjoy Seguin ISD. My teachers are well-educated and ensure that we become well-educated as well. It is evident that they, along with the administration, care about their students' futures.
