As a student, this district gives a good foundation in the elementary levels. Like most small districts, however, when in high school, the emphasis is placed on athletics and not on other fine arts like it should be. The music program is not provided with enough funding to be successful, even though the music director does the best he can with what he has. Students are not given enough guidance with scholarship help.
I moved to Scurry as a sophomore in high school, it was a good move for my brother and I. I personally haven't had to many bad experiences or good experiences at this school. Our school is a small school and is limited on the things we can offer. The administration at the high school this year was not it's best. In previous years it has been good, but with the new principal it has had a downfall.
Not very pleasant. Ridiculous rules and for the most part sub-par teachers. Little to no diversity and if you don't participate in sports expect to be ignored. Religious and ego-centric.
