I think our teachers deserve better and our district does not do everything they can to help them. I think it has gotten better, however we had a teacher strike last year which caused us to miss 7 full school days. This is not something to be excited about or proud of, because our teachers were extremely passionate about this strike. I think our teachers in this district work extremely hard and are very talented and it would be a shame to see them leave due to district issues. Other than that, I have been in this district for 12 years and the community around me is awesome. I have met so many great staff and classmates and I truly am very lucky!

My experience in Scottsdale Unified School district has always been very pleasant. Nice teachers that actually care about you and your education. Administration is always trying to put a smile on our face and make sure not only the kids want to go to school but making sure the parents are involved and knowing about every update that is happening in the school. Diversity is there but living in Scottsdale it’s hard to find much diversity anywhere, witch breaks my heart. I have been going to Scottsdale schools my whole 18 years and have never once had a big safety issue where I felt in danger. I also never had a bad experience at any school with being bullied like some kids struggle with or having so called “bad teachers” I’ve had such wonderful teachers that have not only prepared me to go into college but have shaped me to become who I am today.
I think that Scottsdale Unified School district is good in terms of academics and social opportunities; however, I feel that effort should be put towards our emotional needs and that as students, we should not only be challenged academically but also supported by our teacher and staff during difficult situations. I also feel that in terms of interactions between students, the administration should put more effort into resolving issues/disputes between them rather than requesting that they solve their issues on their own.
