Great fun elementary school. Welcoming community! I attended elementary school all 6 years. I met great friends. My teachers really cared and took lots of effort in their lesson plans. Right next to the pool as well, so builds community. The building is fine, your average elementary school. The food situation should improve, not the schools fault but not great lunches. The playground, pavement area, and green area are really nice and big for students to run around though. Favorite event is westward Ho. 3rd graders dress up and take their wagons across the school. They make their own butter too! Fun time for the whole family. Overall fun lively school environment.

I am really pleased
With the high level of education that is available to my children at Scotch Plains Fanwood schools . They have attended elementary, middle and now high school in this district. They have had the opportunity to participate in many after school activities and sports. All round an excellent experience!
The SPFHS definitely has some things going for it. There are a few very good teachers (in the English and Math departments), other than that, I would say faculty is average. The library is pretty expansive and we have many laptop and iPad carts, but you'd think that for the money spent on them, they would work more consistently. The worst thing about the school is the spirit. The typical high school groups, like the band kids, the athletes, etc. stay segregated. Our school has one of the best music departments in the state (maybe in the country) and it gets no love. Additionally, since our football team is so bad, all anyone cares about is boys soccer, which isn't all that great either. The girls program has won the last 7 county titles but gets minimal support from the school, and the girls swimming program (one of the best athletic programs in school history, winner of the 2015 Public B State Championship) basically doesn't even exist in the eyes of the head athletic administration.
