School Town of Munster Reviews
Academically, Munster is a very good school. I have had some amazing teachers over the years who have not only changed my perspective on school and really helped me in their class, but also taught me some good life lessons that I will carry with me forever. If I could change something about the school, it would probably either be some of the new policies they've put in place this year (although they're just precautionary safety measures, they are a bit ridiculous) or eliminating the few teachers there that have hindered mine and other students success.
There are many positives and negatives to attending Munster High School. The school has a massive focus on academics, with extremely high performing extracurricular, but they do lack on other fronts. There is a lack of school spirit and administrative involvement that should take place at any school in my opinion. There's a certain leniency on certain students and a lot of the school's curriculum is focused on memorization as opposed to actually teaching students information that is necessary. Amidst all of that however, I know I am privileged to go to such a highly esteemed school.
MHS has an excellent curriculm. It also has very dedicated and skilled teachers and staff. My son is a junior and is currently receiving dual credit for two classes. They offer a variety of onsite college visits and send a plethora of scholarship and college information through email and social media. The school is one of the smaller HIgh schools in the area, but that gives more opportunities for sports and other activities. It is also ranked very high in the State of Indiana.
