Attending East Chicago schools was a positive experience for me. I obtained a quality education, which prepared me for college and for life in general. The reason I only gave it 4 stars, rather than 5, is due to the funding problems that frequently plague the district, causing a high teacher transition rate and limiting resources for programs..
I attended the school system of east Chicago and my daughter are now in the school system one thing that changed was e learning which makes up for snow days one thing I would change is still having paper progress reports we have to see grades electronically
The school system was wonderful. All the teachers cared about their students and their future. I would recommend any school I have ever attended in the East Chicago system.
