When I first moved into this district back in 2019, I didn't know what to expect, but surprisingly enough, the schools I've gone to here have been one of the better parts of my life. There's a wide variety of classes to choose from in the middle school I went to (J. Frank Dobie Jr. High School) and the high school I'm attending now. (Byron P. Steele II High School.) Although the teachers are not always the greatest, most of the teachers I've had have been really kind and welcoming towards me. I also heard the district have their own separate social medias for all fine arts in all of their schools, and I'm mentioning this because I'm in String Orchestra. I think it's a nice touch. I really like how supportive our community is here. There's a whole lot of ways for parents to get involved while their kids are participating in other schools activities as well, which is nice to see. There's a whole lot more I could say, but I'm running out of space. To conclude, I'm glad to be here!
When I first moved to the US, this School District was the closest to my family's home and so I went here. They have showed me nothing in short of kindness and acceptance through feeling different (having a physical disability). So, even after graduating from this district, it will always have a place in my heart.
It is very inclusive. The administration is very supportive to the students, and the TEKS are very helpful. We have monthly mental health days where we learn about different mental issues. They take mental health very seriously, and truly want to create real bonds with the student. I couldn't ask for a better school district.
