As a senior of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, I hope that things would change. Many teachers have a passion for teaching, but the students are the issues. I came from a private school but transferred to a public school to see how different the two were, and they were completely different. The food is terrible, some days I even found plastic in my food. The diversity is slim, mostly everyone is of the same race, but it's hard to get along, but I eventually got along with more students in my high school years. When it comes to sports, students feel as if sports are more important than their education, which brings me to college readiness, students do not care much for school, and I hate that, students could care less about their future outside of sports. The schools are grand and sometimes not well kept, but it isn't just every school. I hardly ever saw parents come out to the school unless for games, but for the band or sports, the parents always showed.
The school food hadn’t it’s moments of being good but most of the time was unappealing. I think they should re-assess there bidgets when purchasing Technology. Alfred Ely Beach High school had outdated slow “Think Pad” computers. When I went to Best Buy, a Chromebook was cheaper than the to date Think pad laptop and I believe it would be more efficient. Teaching has improved tremendously over my years learning. Beach highschool needs more attention in regards to funding, even if it isn’t as prestige as Woodville or Savannah Arts. Dual Enrollment should be kept up and encouraged. The educational tactics at Bartlett STEM middle school needs to be applied to all middle schools. And my opinion applies to Pulaski Elementary as well. By looking at my grammar, you can also take note on what kind of employee is needed. I still don’t know where to put commas sometimes. DO SOMETHING BETTER FOR CLASS OF 2020!!! We worked too hard to be dismissed so fast.
I was enrolled in Chatham County public schools from 5th grade through 12th grade. The quality of the curriculum and the teachers teaching the curriculum are very poor in preparation for academic success, standardized tests, and college readiness. However, music, sports, and school spirit are of great quality!
