I have attended San Leandro Unified School District my whole K-12 education. As a student, I never felt as if I was an outcast. The school district is a very diverse district which made me comfortable and allowed me to be a prosperous student. The district also provides the highest level of education they can give to their students. I never felt as if I was falling behind in my classes because my teachers knew what they were doing. Besides the classroom environment, the parents and administration who are apart of the district are phenomenal. They are passionate about providing the best resources to the students and making sure we are all college-ready by the time we graduate. The district also provides us with an abundance of opportunties to volunteer in our community, internships, mentoring, tutoring, clubs, sports, and much more. These opportunities are all opportunities that build and shape a student from San Leandro Unified School District.

I had pretty much fun time at SL, I met my closest friends there and found out what I might want to do in college. What I want to tell future students is to not take the free education opportunity for granted because it’s your choice whether or not it will benefit you in the future. I want to see the food budget change and teaching methods to change, because students are becoming less and less interested in lessons in the classroom and it’s boredom!
I believe the administration team was one of the best. The Richardsons, our principals, did a great job at uniting the school, encouraging us, and believeing in us. The diversity, and how student come together as one, is another amazing experience.
There are so many great opportunities tha San Leandro high school has to offer, academies, clubs, sports, career focus, and much more. One of my personal favorites, was having the flexibility of choosing my classes, although there are requirements, there are different ways to fulfill them.
San Leandro High, gave me choices, helping me practice for college, and the work force.
The math department, is not their strongest, there is only 2 or 3 really good teacher, that a lot of student don't even get through their high school career.
