Salisbury Township School District Reviews
Salisbury has many great teachers who care about their students. The school district supplies us with laptops, smart boards, and many apps like imovie, google accounts. We are required to take a class called "Life Smarts" where they teach us to create a bank account, go for an interview, make resumes, etc. There is very little diversity and the teachers clearly have favorite students, along with the fact that a majority of teachers and student feel entitled and are very judgmental of new students.
I have been enrolled with Salisbury School District since the 6th grade. Overall, I have had a good experience at this school; I transferred from Catholic school to public for middle school, which mad it a much easier transition for me, since there are two elementary schools for Salisbury; Western Salisbury and Harry S. Truman. At the point when middle school comes around, both elementary schools merge together at the middle school located on the west side; this made my transition much easier for me because the students were all meeting new people and I could easily make friends, which I did. I have had good times over my seven year in this district and will probably miss it sometimes when I leave for college this August. I wouldn't change my experience of going to Salisbury, however if I could change anything about the district itself I would want there to be more facilities and a bigger budget for the music programs.
Salisbury Township has done a wonderful job to challenge me as a student while allowing me to flourish. Academically, there is a wide variety of classes and types of teachers that students may surround themselves with, which allows many different types of students to be successful. We are a close knit school where everyone has an opportunity to get involved in sports and and array of extracurricular activity. The small school environment prepares students for college by serving as a replica in some ways; more general classes are larger, but once classes become more specialized, for example AP classes, class sizes get smaller.
