SASA, Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy-under Saginaw Public Schools, a separate magnet school. Programs are stellar, art, dance, music, math, writing, etc. The best of the best attend this program. Sadly, funded equally with public schools requiring parents & students to constantly lobby for or self-fund equipment & experiences required to provide quality opportunities to gifted & talented of the area. These students will become the tax base for this area-yet there are frequent comments about how they should be mainstreamed with the "regular" students instead of having a special school. The community doesn't seem to understand that placing gifted & talented in a regular classroom will not increase the IQ of their children, but rather limit the potential of the advanced students. SASA is in an old Montgomery Ward building with leaky ceilings. These students, who will be the backbone of the community, deserve better.

SPSD prepared me to be a successful student and use my talents to then max! Saginaw has incredible talent that is unmatched almost anywhere - I’m convinced. Management issues can plague the district, but the diversity and will of the students is what keeps it going and is a bright spot for the city. I recommend that parents consider enrolling their student(s) and the Saginaw Public School District - especially the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy! You will not regret your decision and will see lifelong returns on your educational investment!
So far the advisors at Delta college are really helpful with helping me achieve my career goals. I have made mistakes in previous years with schooling. I too much on my plate and I couldn't focus. I decided to move to Saginaw, MI and this was the best decision that I have made. I am making a lot of accomplishments. Delta college has been a HUGE part of that. I have not started yet but it's expected to start this year. I am beyond excited to work with this school to accomplish my ultimate goals of being coming a nurse who specializes in Mental Health.
