I have been in the Russell County School system all my life. While attending headstart, elementary school, middle school, and high school, I have experienced and learned so many things. My years at Central High school has been the best years of my life thus far. Throughout high school, the faculty, teachers, and staff have done everything in the student's best interest. I look forward to spending my senior year at this high school. I would recommend this school system to anyone who plans on moving into this area! You will not be disappointed!
My experience way okay. The days just dragged on and nothing we learned was beneficial. I say this because the teach us a lesson for about a week, we take a test, and then we forget it all. I wish they had more classes that pertained to people's interest. I also wished they prepared us for the outside world, because apparently that is what schools are for. I wish the teachers and staff members had more faith in their school instead of believing we are going to fail. There have been countless of times were I have heard that were not going to make it in life because the school has not given the information we need in order to succeed. If I had a dime for every time I heard we were going to fail I would be rich. It doesn't help that were on the school failing list as well. Basically, it was over before it even began. There was no hope for us. Honestly, this is why I believe everyone is so surprised when someone coming from our background succeed.
What I like about Russell County, is that it was simple and straightforward. It was challenging in some subjects like, Math, Science and English but in a good way. I liked that it was a small high school because that meant smaller classes and more help for us. I would like to change several things in my school (Russell County High School). First and foremost I would like the school to get a lot more organised. Second, the school needs more programs that support the interest of other students for career choices. Third, I personally think we need more supportive teachers and staff. Finally, I think we need more student involvement in the school.
