I came to Rosemount Senior High School after going to a private Christian school for grades Kinder-garden through Eight grade. It was a big transition and I think it went about as well as expected. Although I had a few friends going in it was really hard to connect, especially because we were in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic. However I really dove in to the Speech and Debate community even though I did not join until halfway through my Sophmore year. Speech and Debate was undoubtably the best part of my high school experience. I gained life long friends, public speaking skills, and a wonderful environment to just be myself. However I will admit it was not the same in the regular day to day classes. Coming from a Christian conservative household my viewpoints were very different from many of those around me, and while our teacher claimed to want to hear all perspectives, I often found that mine was not valued or wanted. Overall I would say my experience is exactly what I thought.
I go to Eastview Senior Highschool and I have to say that they really ensure that you do well. Throughout my 3 almost 4 years at Eastview, I've excelled academically and collected numerous traits that shape me into the person I am now. During my freshmen year, I remember struggling a lot academically and they ensured that I could keep up with my work by putting me in a class, where I could finish my work while a teacher monitored me. Although times can be stressful and that's bound to happen, teachers always make sure you are prepared for upcoming tests and ensure that you do well. I've not had one teacher that didn't prepare me well for tests and essays. Eastview is also very diverse and making friends at Eastview is very simple, they ensure that you connect with others and communicate with others too. In conclusion, Eastview high school is a great Highschool and I highly recommend going there if you live around the Rosemount district.
Overall it has been a great experience! I had been introduced to many new friends throughout my years in school, also some teachers who are amazing people and who I look up too.
