Rondout Valley Central School District Reviews
In elementary school I had teachers push me out the door because I was slow because of my disability, the teachers had me walk only two days after getting my cast off and I got to the bus crying in pain, and when we had school pictures they excluded all the disabled kids In middle school Horrible teachers and system altogether they refuse to change my name on the attendance even though they did it before, before the law about the bathrooms they made me use the nurses bathroom room, one teacher is working in a class for autism and yells at the kids and gets mad at them for slimming, I’ve had teachers force me to pick up my lunch with my crutches and tell me that I have to learn to live with my disability, I have gotten lunch detention for using my crutches, High school is heaven they let us use our phones and they let us wear hats
Overall my entire experience with the district has been great, with the odd decisions here and there. The entire district is well governed, the students are safe, the teachers are good and the schools are very nice. However the food is always terrible, the school is great in every other aspect.
I transferred to Rondout Valley my freshman year. I did come from a more diverse school so the atmosphere at Rondout took time to get used to. I learned that the atmosphere was less diverse but it wasn’t necessarily a negative atmosphere. It’s a good school with average opportunity relating to AP and collegiate classes along with great music department resources
