My school, Rockwood Summit High school, has been exceptional in preparing me for college. I have had the opportunity to take AP classes, and also participate in several extra curriculum activities that have shaped me into a very well rounded student. I have also participated in volleyball and basketball for 4 years at Summit, which has kept me well grounded. The coaching staff, teachers and administrators are all very caring people, with the same goal in mind. That goal is SUCCESS of their students! The one thing I loved is how my principle has followed the class of 2017 through the entire 4 years, and has gotten to know each of us on a personal level. I am going to miss my high school.

The Rockwood School District is a great place to interact with a diverse group of people. Many of the students, teachers, and staff get along with each other and I have never seen much bullying or issues going on. Occasionally there is some issues with students, and the counselors are very quick about helping the students. One of my favorite things about the Rockwood School District is the compassionate teachers, counselors, staff, etc. I have noticed that most of them are passionate about their job and have great enthusiasm for teaching and preparing students for their future. One of the things that I do not agree with at our school is how we are able to retake tests/quizzes in some classes. The reason for this is because it does not prepare us for college when we do not have a second chance to receive a better score. Overall, my High School and the School District as well has great leadership and spirit! I am glad to be apart of it.
As a former student at of the Rockwood School District, I was given a well rounded education from Kindergarten to my senior year of high school. I gained many lasting memories and friends at Elementary, Middle and High School and while at times there were conflicts, we would always get help and know that the faculty and staff truly cared about us and our education. Rockwood also is great at providing excellent college readiness to their students and really pushes them to excel in honors and AP courses. I only wish that the student body could have been more diverse as there was not much variety and there were many cliques as a result. Overall, I had a great experience with the Rockwood School District and I hope that you consider it for your children's education.
