Rockford Area Schools consists of three school buildings: elementary school for grades kindergarten through four, a middle school for grades five through eight, and a high school serving grades nine through twelve. All of our schools are magnet schools.

A magnet school has a particular curricular focus developed around a core set of five principles: Diversity, Innovative Curriculum & Professional Development, Academic Excellence, High-Quality Instructional Systems, and Family & Community Partnerships

Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet Schools (K-4) instruction integrates content and skills from the areas of the arts of dance, drama, music, & visual art with core subjects.

Rockford Middle School Center for Environmental Studies (5-8) instruction integrates science, technology, engineering, & math with an environmental emphasis.

Rockford High School IB School (9-12) infuses a core curriculum with a world focus that can help young people understand their role as responsible world citizens.
