Rochester Community School Corporation Reviews
The teachers at Rochester Community High School are very involved in their student's lives and are quick to lend a student a helping hand if needed. I love that the school is more technology-based, as many schools are switching over to submitting and completing coursework online. There are many excellent coaches at RHS as well and the dynamic for the athletics is amazing. I continually love to see the growth in athletic achievements as well as academic achievements. However, Rochester Community High School needs to strengthen their academics to better prepare their students for college. Science and Mathematics courses are very poor in preparing students for entry-level college courses. I would like to see growth in both Chemistry, Physics, and Biology to better help students who are pursuing a degree in STEM or a health-related field. Other than that, the school is doing a wonderful job in incorporating more college classes and AP classes into the curriculum.
Rochester Community Schools has provided an excellent education. Teachers are caring, yet challenge students to reach their highest potential. I have been blessed to take both AP classes and duel credit courses at Rochester High School. The opportunities for involvement are great for a small school. Students can be involved in many extra-curricular activities such as sports, drama, music, academic teams, service clubs, etc.
Rochester Community Schools are smaller than most. That being said, there are not a lot of students in each class. I found it easier to communicate with my teachers and get their help on assignments when the class is not very big. I attend Rochester Community High School as a freshman, and I had plenty of choices on what extracricuulars I wanted to take. Though, Rochester only offers two foreign languages; Chinese and Spanish. Chinese is an online class, and I take Spanish class. Rochester High School now offers high school classes to middle schoolers and college classes to juniors and seniors. On a scale from one to ten, my experience at Rochester High School would be a 7. There is not much diversity or school culture, but this school focuses on academics and helping students better themselves for the future.
