Riverview School District Reviews
At Riverview Highschool you will be surrounded around on average, 400 students, ranging from grades 7th through 12. These students are involved in multiple sports, extracurricular activities or even youth groups. Here at Riverview you feel like a family and can easily find a group of people that have similar interests as you, which is extremely important as students mature. As a junior, my overall experience with the Riverview School District is very good! But similar to anything, all schools have their downsides. By being a very small, single A school district, the budget for extracurriculars can be very little and continue to dwindle over the course of the year. The legacy of Riverview was the growing, prideful music department. But thanks to the crushing budget, the department funds were cut greatly, many teachers were fired and others were rerouted. This crushed the musical department because it caused an uproar with the music classes.
Riverview School District is overall a very tiny, but nice school to attend. When you go here, everyone knows everyone. This makes it very easy to get to know your teachers, so you can excel if you have the drive to. The teachers are all very personable, but some of the curriculum isn’t up to par with college standards. Also, there isn’t a lot of diversity at all so students don’t get to gain that experience during high school. Our track and cross country teams are the only decent athletic programs we have. Riverview School District has decent academics and athletics, but nothing special.
I loved it! The thing was, as I was graduating from the school, it seemed like things were getting worse for the current students.
