I feel that Richmond Public schools get a really bad representation due to long-lasting stereotypes and news stories but is absolutely great because of how the students get to interact with what they are learning about. As a person who has experienced the learning technique of the teachers who work in RPS schools, I feel that they might get frustrated with how the students react to what they should be learning. Compared to other school districts, we have more benefits yet, while lacking some. Some school buildings aren't up to high standard such as some Henrico schools. I do love the fact that Richmond Public Schools gives out free Breakfast and Lunches , which is ver much needed for certain students
during the pandemic. Over all, Richmond public schools isn't perfect like many school districts yet, they are putting forth there most effort.

I have always been a Richmond City Public School student. I attended Bellemeade Elementary, Oak Grove Elementary, and the combined Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary. For middle school, I attended T.C. Boushall Middle School where I excelled past expectations. From there I was accepted into Open High School, Richmond Community High School, and Maggie L. Walker Governors School for government and international studies. RPS schools thank the little things and make them larger and accessible for students, families, and faculty. I would like to see more city funding go into programs specialized for helping students accomplish greater things as I have. Because of RPS I am a junior and Maggie Walker and on the path of graduating.
I have been in RPS since I was younger and I love the sense of community provided as you age with the schools. Although some situations are handled poorly and the school board does not seem to take criticism or any type of suggestion well, it is a pretty decent school district.
