Great schools, great teacher outstanding community!! Would recommend any of the 3 elementary schools and the middle and high school is fantastic!
I am a homeschooled student and Poland Regional has accepted me into their school. They allow me to play sports for their school and they allow me to represent them. The moment you walk into that school you are greeted with smiling faces and teacher/coaches who will do everything in their power to see you fulfill your full potential.
Poland time and time again fails to address bullying from students and specific staff. Racism/microaggressions are often dismissed. Poland does poorly in creating and following IEP's and 504 plans. Some staff are kind but they tend to be the exception. Specific staff repeatedly bully certain students and openly favor other students This goes unaddressed by administration following reporting. Most staff seem to be not well trained on youth mental health. Some even acknowledge the mental health issues and "poke fun" at them or dismiss them. Many students at Poland seem to suffer from anxiety and depression and this is rarely accounted for. Staff also seems to not have much understand of Neurodivergent (Adhd/ Autism) students and attempt to force them to conform to neurotypical standards. One small example of this is grading a student lower for lack of eye contact. Girl students at Poland know which male teacher to avoid. Some staff harmfully engage in gossip and bullying with students.
