My kids go to John Lyman and one at CRHS. Lyman is a HOT school with ID program: very arts and music oriented. Talented, passionate, down to earth teachers, many live in town. Many special instructors for individual help in specific areas for kids in regular classes. The best school you could ever send your kids to on a public school budget!

CRHS sends off many students to very good colleges. Safe area, school is near historic Main St. The food served in the cafeteria is reportedly best in state. No spoiled snobs here, mix of middle class/working class. Technical school and parochial schools nearby.

Personally, I enjoyed Regional School District 13 for so many reasons. The teachers and guidance counselors all were very helpful and prepared us as best as they could for high school and other life endeavors. We were also opened to many different kinds of club and sport opportunities, which all seemed successful by the end of the year. One thing I think Regional School District 13 lacked, was diversity. Since this district was dominantly white and located in a farm like area of Connecticut, it definitely was short of different diversities. I do think diversity is an important factor to be immersed in, since the older you get and farther you adventure out after high school and college, you become more faced to face with it.
I loved my time in District 13. I was in the Integrated Day Program growing up, and I can honestly say that it prepared me immensely in getting into a great school, and adapting to a variety of different learning styles.
