As an alum of Raymondville high school, I found my experience to be be very enjoyable and memorable. Since the city of Raymondville is a small one, the close net community felt like home as well as the school. Raymondville high school is very welcoming and encouraging. However the only thing I would change about it would be the preparation for college. Raymondville High school does provide dual enrollment however with the process of getting college ready such as applying for financial aid, scholarship and all that, I feel that where the school slacks. Other than that, I love Raymondville Independent school district.
What I like about Raymondville High School is how the teachers push the students to do better on their work. They encourage us to set higher goals and expectations for ourselves. They want what is best for us. The one thing they can improve on in this district is most likely the food. The food is decent, but it can improve by allowing us to pick from a variety of foods each day. Instead of having almost the same kinds of food everyday. One thing they can include could be fruit cups; fruit cups would definitely be something people would look forward to during lunch.
I have been attending schools in the Raymondville Independent School District from 4th grade until my senior year of high school. In general, school was very enjoyable. Most of the students are kind, the teachers and staff members are helpful, and I enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities. Academically, I wish I had been challenged more. As of recently, I am not sure if I am as academically prepared for college as I could be, and many universities do not accept the college credit I earned during high school. I understand that this not at the fault of the Raymondville Independent School District, but the schools struggle with staffing and maintaining new teachers for more than two years.
