Rapid City Area School District Reviews
I’ve been in this school district since kindergarten! I have made so many friends through all of the fun activities that RCAS has provided! Along with having fun, I’ve been given the tools and resources that I need to do my best and to reach my goals. I have always been able to get help from anyone in the district, however the only thing I would change is being able to provide substitutes that know about the specific subject that they are filling in for. More so when teachers leave for extended periods of time. The students in these classes are left with a teacher that is not as helpful and does not know how to properly teach the material to the students.
I love my school, but I also think that as a student the school board stinks. I feel like they don't care about their students, or their staff as much as they should. Right now the school I attend is Stevens High School and the school district is making us go to block schedule next year. I am very concerned and upset because they are keeping it as a "secret" from us students. I feel like they are setting us up to fail, I believe that they should give the students who have to go to school every day a voice in this decision! I guarantee that our test scores will drop, Stevens, is a college prep school. Also, as a big Music person in the band, we are very advanced right now and I am very upset that our music department will have to suffer because we will only be with each other every other day. I'm upset that they are putting classes over another. I believe we should have a voice in this decision and not just the school board!
I am currently a senior at Central High school. School has always been very important to me and whether you enjoy it or not makes a big difference. Central gets stereotyped poorly often and people know us as a bad stereotype. Although, Central has many smart kids and many talents. I love attending Central because I have met so many diverse people and everyone is so welcoming. I also love how much there is to do and how much school spirit everyone obtains!
