Rains School District is small and a great atmosphere for students. Class size is perfect. The teachers are there to help us. The only thing I could say needs to improve is our district needs to work harder to keep teachers. I know there are circumstances to why teachers/coaches leave but I would like to see that change.
A school lead by a Christian principal, there is a heavy religious bias that would be expected of a Christian private school, except with public school funding. If it's discovered that you are an atheist and liberal, you can expect that the rules will be strictly enforced on you while your conservative Christian classmate's rule breaking is ignored. The teachers may even harass you to the point that you drop out because they know they can get away with it.
Of course, Don't Pass, Don't Play applies. However, the coaches are the teachers and they will often pass those students because we are a 'football school'.
The Arts Programs grasp at straws looking for pennies to pay for supplies, often raising their own funds, while the sports programs get new uniforms near annually.
All in all, the school has potential but needs to get new leadership and its priorities straight.

My main issue with Rains is a lack of care from admin about the bullying problem. I've seen many cases of harassment and despite the complaints, nothing was ever done.
