Queensbury is a district full of enthusiastic teachers, wonderful administrators, a surplus amount of extracurricular opportunities, great sports, fantastic arts programs, and not to mention top-of-the-line academic rigor and excellence. Queensbury's academic programs prepared me extremely well for college, which I can't say about most other school districts. There was always an event to be involved in or faculty that was eager to help. Queensbury, however, did lack diversity in both the student and faculty realm, which I recognize now that I go to an extremely diverse college. The Queensbury schools were always clean, modern, and resourceful. There were plenty of areas to socialize as well as rooms for relaxing or studying. There truly is something for everyone at Queensbury!
During my experience with Queensbury School District was some of the best memories and friends I have ever met there. With the pandemic going on Queensbury had handled the whole situation to the best of their ability. Still maintaining the education that we would all get in a "normal" school year. The teachers know how to connect with the students which is very beneficial because I feel safe in the school every time I walk into the building. Also, Queensbury just had a remodeling with almost every part of the campus and it is all tying together nicely.
My experience at Queensbury High school was overwhelmingly positive. The variety of academic courses to select from makes me think that almost anyone can find something they are interested in, especially for electives. I will say that the core coursework doesn't allow for much choosing until Junior, but really senior year.
During my time there I surrounded myself with a great community that allowed me to thrive, and my peers pushed me to be the best that I could. If you really search for it, I believe that anyone can find that community that I'm talking about.. but you need to search for it and try, like most things in life, so that you can actually find it.
Regarding teachers most of mine were average, that didn't leave a lasting impact, however I've had about 4 teachers that I will continue to stay in contact with because of the big impact on my life. But I figure that is how most schools go.
Regarding sports and clubs offered there is no place that Queensbury really falls short.
