Powell County Public Schools Reviews

The Powell County School System has a long way to go, to catch up with other surrounding counties around us. We do not have a diverse group of students, as we are a small rural area, our teachers and staff do the best with what they have to work with, and our clubs and sports are behind compared to other counties. KY ranks low in the states as far as education, and Powell County, even further down on the pole. My daughter came to the high school with over 4 credits more than needed to graduate from this high school, than from a high school in another state...

Powell County schools are very comparable to larger school systems. In a lot of ways they are better. Classrooms sometimes are not as big, as well as standards are clearly defined, completely upheld. The quality of learning is much higher than what my sons were accustomed to from the county which they have lived in their entire lives.
The schools are nice, well kept, and updated to compare with most schools in the region.
The teaching staff above all is the best part of schools. They all prioritize making sure each is learning to the best of their each individual abilities. The keep communication open between each and every student and each of their parents. They create an environment for everyone to truly be successful and enjoy doing it.
Powell County is a place that cares about their students and is always trying to find ways to improve performance and participation.
