Poth Independent School District Reviews
I am currently a senior at Poth High School located in Poth Texas. Poth school district has reputation that precedes itself. The mention of Poth denotes students with strong Academic and Athletic skills and abilites. The state of Texas has recently awarded Poth ISD with a letter grade of an 'A'. This grade would not be possible without the dedicated teachers, administration, coaches, and staff working at our school. Education and safety are top priorities at Poth. The school provides educational tools such as tutoring sessions, a "parent portal" website, and college readiness courses to name a few. Even our coaches stress the importance of academics over athletics. Safety is the other main priority. Our school has recently upgraded the safety protocols, structural designs, and security presence on all three campuses. We are Poth strong. Go Pirates Go!
Poth Independent School District tries their hardest but often times they fall short. They redo the football field... but can't redo the bleachers. They build a new band hall/Ag building... it won't be ready until January 2020. Poth Elementary and Junior High are both nice schools and have recently had a great amount of safety features added. Where Poth seems to fall short is with their high school. Often times boys athletics is given much more funding than girls even though the girls have gone to state many more times. You want funding? give the girls some new equipment since they are the one's bringing in all the attention. Also, the school does not offer much academics wise. Yes, the school offers dual credit, and AP classes, although again it falls short when it comes to career oriented classes.
Overall great school district, with new Superintendent there have been many positives changes for the betterment of the community.
