Rating 4.1 out of 5 10 reviews
Portville Central School is a small school where it seems easy to make friends once you find a group of people that are similar to you. However, this school seems to have quite a few cliques, making it difficult for some to find a place to belong among their peers. I also noticed that some teachers seemed to favor athletic students over those who were not interested in sports. Of course, not all teachers and faculty treated students in this way, but the difference in treatment of those that do, was apparent to almost everyone. The town of Portville is a small community, never failing to make you feel safe on the school campus as well as around the town itself.
Pride Creates Success is the motto at Portville Central School and it is evident in their faculty, staff, and administration. They foster a caring learning environment.
My experience at Portville was overall pretty good. I believe that the education system is an above average system. Through my experience at Portville, I have received an excellent amount of assistance when needed and was able to maintain above average grades due to the teachers and help that they offer every student. Transferring in my sophomore year, I didn't think that I would do very well for a while. But all of my teachers made sure to help me get through it. With this being said, the education aspect of the school is great. but being such a small school, the drama and cliques are the hardest part. Everyone knows everything about everything because in a school that size, everyone talks, even adults. It made high school a bit more difficult than most schools would be. Although, I had challenges with the social life at school, my overall rating of Portville is very good.
