Portsmouth is very welcoming school. As someone who has been to 3 different schools in the area, I’ve never felt more welcomed or like a belong than I have at Portsmouth. The only issues I’ve ever had with Portsmouth is a teacher here and there but majority of my teachers have provided a learning experience like no other. Portsmouth isn’t necessarily in the greatest part of town but with that being said, I have never felt unsafe being at school or walking around. We have a very nice athletic complex and fantastic coaches. The food isn’t the greatest but it’s free and they make sure that everyone eats at least breakfast and lunch, if you don’t have access to food at home the school is known for giving sack lunches to those in need. Portsmouth has given me friendships that will last a lifetime, once a Trojan always a Trojan.
I have had a good experience with PCSD since I was a in the 9th grade, but all of that changed my senior year. This year has been the worst year i've been in school, the school doesn't offer good meals for those with allergies, and if you have family working there you can do whatever you please. I am very disappointed with how my senior year has gone.
Overall it wasn’t terrible, however the children were absolutely awful. The staff gossiped too much for my taste, but most of the teachers were very friendly and actually cared about the students. I loved most of my teachers very much.
