I like that the school is small and I know just about every one. I can be active in sports and extracurricular activities even though I am not the best out there because of the lack of students. I get to participate in things I might not have the chance to I. A bigger 5a-6a school. The teachers are very personable and are like family. Everyone knows my family by name and are friends with them. I am disappointed in the lack of classes and honors classes available for me to take at Porter. I believe a bigger school would better prepare me for college and life in general and I fear I have not been set up for the “real world” like I need to be. If I was able to choose a different school I would just so I could have more access to a better education.
What i love about Porter Consolidated School is that we have so much school spirit, we take pride in our school & all the activities that happen here. I would love to see this grow throughout my last year, & many more after that! We might be a small school, people always say that we’re “ not good enough” but that doesn’t matter here. We always encourage each other to do our best & represent our school the best way we can! Therefore i’m proud to be a Porter Pirate & i’ll aways be a Pirate at heart!
I love how my town and community is so small but when it comes to our school spirit we go all out! we come together to decorate our school, have fun events for the kids and support our Porter Pirates. This town has so much love for our teachers who support us in everything, and willing to follow us every step of the way. when we play against other schools, and have visitors , our school is know for how respectful we are and how we carry ourselves, and our sportsmanship. i'm beyond proud to be a Porter Pirate, and i hope it'll continue to be this way four our community and new people!
