Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District Reviews
As a 2018 grad, my time at Port Chester High School has been amazing. There are teachers who actually care about their profession and try everything in their power to give the best education to their students. There is diversity everywhere in the school! We have excellent AP/IB Programs. The food can be a hit or miss, but there are plenty of options. Security could be a bit better, and the population is increasing rapidly, but the school is building another building so it's no big deal. I will always love my school! RAM PRIDE
I like that our school is very difference, a mixture of different cultures. However, we, as students, often tend to separate ourselves into groups and I think we should change that. Spanish speaking students should be able to interact with anyone they would like ,without getting made fun of for their accent or their style of clothes.
For a family seeking a real world school experience, Port Chester Schools fit the bill. Diversity is Port Chester’s strength, both in terms of race, ethnicity and economics. The students are hardworking and far from pretentious. The school district is large enough to avoid the social clique issues that crop up elsewhere. The course offerings are really great - both IB and AP courses are available at the high school. There are a variety of clubs and sports available. The music, drama and art programs are outstanding. It’s a bit crowded but a bond was passed that will bring space and improvements by 2020.
