Pompton Lakes School District is very average. There is not many problems with the school. However it is not very diverse and because of that the so students do not act appropriately towards other races. That is a small percentage of the students however. Also some of the staff favors some students over others, not by showing affection or praising them or anything. An example would be the PE teachers they would not care if the athletic students did not participate in PE and not do anything about it however if a nonathletic student did nothing or does not do much they would get yell at or get detentions. Also some of the troubled kids would get out of trouble and would just get a warning and if a another kid did what they did they would get a detention.
Pompton Lakes is a small town. I have only 150 kids in my graduating class but for a small school we offer a lot. Regardless of the sport, we have the most fans in our stands at home and away games. Our school spirit is amazing.
I am currently taking a AP course and two dual enrollment classes which will afford me the opportunity to start college in the fall with credits already. We take it for granted but when I talk to friends from other schools , they do not have the volume of classes to pick from that I do at Pompton.

Great public school education with staff that is passionate about teaching and exhibits a great sense of care towards all students. Great sports and art programs, and is a very inclusive school.
