It was the best decision my parents ever made enrolling me here! I have had so many opportunities to grow and achieve success and I don’t think I would’ve gotten that at any other school. My teachers were some of the best I’ve had and I have learned so much from them.
Pocono Mountain did a good job preparing me for college but the school culture was a bit lackluster at times. Overall I had a pleasant experience there.
My experience has been okay so far the teacher are very kind and take the time to make sure your education comes first. There is tons of activities and clubs to join which have people who care for one another and are just fun to be around. Although the school has diversity there isn’t much culture. And there is a little discrimination happening. All I can do is make awareness of it .There is however a lot of school spirit and fun event that happen once in a while. This school is by far the second semi-best school I’ve been to and would recommend it to a family member of friend who come to PA. It’s not the best school but it is a great school.
In Pocono Mountain School District, I like the diverse environment of students and the well put together classrooms. Also here, the sports programs are outstanding. For instance, our girl soccer team just won EPC conference champions and half the team got nominated for EPC conference first team. One thing I would change here would be the school spirit. Not many students come out to support other teams or show interest in dressing up for spirit weeks or pep rallies.
While attending Pmsd for 4 years I have realized that this school only benefits you if you play sports.
Our school is mainly focused on sports, and I feel like they expect way too much from their students. Pocono Mountain has unrealistic standards for their students.
This is a good school. I have been going here for quite a while and I can tell that most of the teachers care about your well being and they want your to do well. We have pretty good facilities for a public school. It is a good environment for students. Most of the people here are pretty friendly.
The teaching is good however there is way too much drama. The athletic department puts too much time, energy, and money into boys sports and not enough into girls.
The school has many diverse opportunities to find a club or a thing they gravitate towards. We have trips to Hershey park or even to perform in Orlando Florida. We have groups that range from community service to student government to anime to dungeons and dragons.
Loved my time at Pocono Mountain West and made great relationships with students and teachers, was well prepared for college life and academics.
They have programs for all kids willing to learn. There are many clubs and after school program if your child wants to get involved.
My education has been spectacular, I would never take that away from my school. I have been gifted with the option to go to this school district and receive an education from them and for that I will forever be appreciative. That being said, the school districts policies and politics are absolutely ridiculous, and there is not a day that goes by in which they do not take away from the incredible educational opportunities the school is offering. By simply looking at our school, you may very well guess that we have very little funding, we may Ben one of the poorest schools in the county, but we absolutely are not. All of the money we are delegated is going to our sports, our million dollar football station we didn’t need, new gear that wasn’t necessary, etc. And, most importantly of all, our money goes to our super intendent’s 250,000 a year salary.
At Pocono Mountain there is a large amount of club and sport opportunities. This allows for students to meet teachers and form relationships. though teachers her are smart and work hard, they do not prepare you for college or the college application process.
Pocono mountain school district provides an extremely wide range of opportunities for all kinds of students. With the myriad of clubs and activities to participate in and numerous electives that can help students experience their possible fields of study.
My experience is very good with the school. I would like to see more college readiness programs. I would also like to see more interaction with the guidance counselor. Senior year is very important and we will be embarking on a new journey and we should have more informative information about what is about to happen going forward. We should be SAT and ACT ready by senior year. This should happen in sophomore year so by the time we become seniors we are just reviewing and not learning. Overall the experience with the school district is a good one.
Your child has to be motivated to succeed the school district does not reach out unless you are at the top or a problem those in the middle get left out. They do not prepare kids or life after school. Administration is not helpful .
It's an ok school, but it could use many improvements when it comes to dealing with students. There are some teachers that should retire already use they can't handle teaching any more. The East side you will fine 0 diversity in their teachers it's all white . the hispanic teacher and African American they moved them to the west side. in that part is noticeable how separated they are.
