Pocahontas County, although may not be the best school, I am truly grateful i had the opportunity to attend Pocahontas County High School. I had the most thoughtful and amazing teachers, most of which would do anything in their power to give their students the best learning experience they could.

Pocahontas County School has been great to be educated in. The high school has been so helpful in preparing me for college level classes. The math programs are excellent. However I think that the other subjects need to step up. The English departments are neglected, this means that the students are not getting the full English education they need and this effecting their other classes. It is a problem that needs to be resolved. Also the schools are in pretty bad shape, I believe a better maintenance staff would help. I would like to see the state come and overview our system and fix some things to make our schools better and more beneficial to students.
I like that we have a small town family feel. We only have about 380 students within my high school. We have exceptional teachers who thrive for us to accomplish goals and dreams, whether that consists of going to college or staying home to run the family farm. I'd love to see more programs come to our school, such as wrestling, ROTC program, and more christian in school athletes.
