I have really enjoyed growing up in a small town. At Pocahontas Area I have been able to play multiple sports and grow many friendships. I feel that if I lived somewhere with a larger school I would not have had the opportunity to play multiple sports and find out where my passion really was. The downfall to our smaller school is that we do not have as many academic opportunities as other schools have. We are very limited on AP classes and even limited on the offerings of regular classes. We have had a lack of math teachers my whole way through high school so I have not been able to take the classes I would have liked to.
Pocahontas Area is a great place to meet new people, the size is small enough that you have time to be one on one with teachers, yet have enough kids to talk to and be friends with. Pocahontas Area Community School has a really wide district stretching 20 miles in every direction. If anything could be changed I wish everything was in a central location. Not having to travel twenty minuets to practice every once in awhile is hard to do.
I liked everything. Pocahontas Area Community School District is solid in all aspects. I don't think a single thing should be changed pertaining to the curriculum, staff, and building. It is an all-around great place to learn and be. All I can say is well done!
