Plano Independent School District provided me with a solid education foundation. From first grade to twelfth grade, the curriculum flowed beautifully and each grade provided the students with information essential for academic growth and progress. The teachers and students have in incredible bond an understanding for each other, as long as each puts in one hundred percent effort and try to do their best. In my grade school years, I had a very intense schedule studying ballet pre-professionally. Through PISD's off-campus PE program, I was able to leave school a class period early to get to my dance studio in time for class, and/or get a head start on homework. Their off-campus PE program allowed me to excel in my extracurricular activity where I later became a professional ballet dancer, and continue to excel and grow academically. Overall, Plano Independent School District is a fabulous school district that helped me get to where I am today in my life and education.

I have been attending schools in the Plano Independent School District since 2010, and overall, I have had a very good experience. I moved here from another state, so elementary school was a bit rough. I definitely recommend the high schools in West Plano especially because there is a very welcoming environment. High school so far has been a great experience. I was always scared to enter freshman because I've heard it's rough socially and academically, but the students and teachers here in the Plano Independent School District were so kind and did a great job of making students feel included, even newcomers to Plano. Although the Plano Independent School District has many positive factors, there is one glaring downside: competition. There is so much competition in Plano schools, and sometimes it can be unhealthy. I do not recommend two schools because of the unhealthy competition and limited diversity: Rice Middle School and Jasper High School.
The teachers are marvelous! The education portion is incredible, but there needs to be an absolutely no bullying policy put in place. The students get into fights often, and bully other kids, even me. There are great kids, but they need to have consequences for bullying.
