Plano Independent School District has an excellent academic program that provides students with challenging curriculum to prepare them for college. They have a Health Sciences Academy that's available to apply for. I want to become a physician and I was accepted to the Health Sciences Academy. The experience is amazing! The curriculum covers the entire human body and we are required to learn all of the bones, muscles, veins, arteries, organs, all aspects of the heart, basically every function of every part of the human anatomy. We get experience with actual doctor and nurses and medical environments. We have our own 8 bed hospital in the school and we have awesome teachers that will work with every student to perform at their highest level.

I'm a sophomore in the Plano Independent School District and I love it! I'm in the Health Sciences Academy which is a fantastic program for students that want a career as a doctor or in the medical field. They definitely prepare you for success in college. I began participating in a concurrent enrollment program as a freshman where College professors come to the high school and teach colleges courses which is great for getting a head start in college at a reduced cost. It's always ranked in the top 10 school districts in Texas out of over 1000. Colleges respect the district which is very beneficial during the admission process.
Plano Independent School District is a very broad district filled with a lot of diversity, culture, and tradition. I love how involved the district is with its surrounding community and how they're always providing a way for students to find a way to be involved in their communities as well. Only thing I would critique for Plano Independent School District would be security concerns with larger, open campuses. Though implementations of badges and stricter class times have been enforced recently in the last 1-2 years, there's still room for improvement for large campuses containing classes of 1,500 plus students.
