Plano Independent School District Reviews
Plano Independent School District has an excellent academic program that provides students with challenging curriculum to prepare them for college. They have a Health Sciences Academy that's available to apply for. I want to become a physician and I was accepted to the Health Sciences Academy. The experience is amazing! The curriculum covers the entire human body and we are required to learn all of the bones, muscles, veins, arteries, organs, all aspects of the heart, basically every function of every part of the human anatomy. We get experience with actual doctor and nurses and medical environments. We have our own 8 bed hospital in the school and we have awesome teachers that will work with every student to perform at their highest level.
The Plano Independent School District has exceptional standards of their staff and students, which creates a really intense but supportive academic environment. One of the most positive attributes of this school district is the diversity it allows its students, whether it be in the choice of extracurricular activities, or in the type of schooling such as International Baccalaureate or the STEM and Medical academies. However, interacting with district personnel is not always the most productive experience for teachers and students, so the atmosphere of the district as a whole for both students and parents could be improved. Overall though, Plano ISD is a wonderful school district to be a part of.
Loved the teachers, excellent academic standards. As a transfer student, I was helped to settle in, especially the fact that I was coming from an IB curriculum. The counselor was very helpful. Enjoyed being part of the swimming team, excellent coach, very committed, an ex-Olympian with excellent understanding of the sport. My focus was swimming, but the school offered other sports including American football and basketball. Was impressed they had a special needs teaching program. Students attending the school were friendly and easy to socialize with. Very diverse school. School was always clean, food at the cafeteria was good. Loved my 10th grade year.
