Plainfield has been a great place for me to grow as both a student and a person. The core values of the community and the college preparation make Plainfield an amazing place for students looking to continue their academic careers. Only changes I could suggest are more classes, but the administration is always working on that and I’m sure there a plenty more to come. Overall great school!
The academics were definitely a huge part of why I liked Plainfield. There were very advanced science classes that nurtured my love of all things medical and propelled my career forward, and art classes that provided a great basis for my friend's art school education. There was a diverse selection of AP classes and dual credit opportunities. The clubs and extracurriculars were also amazing. However, one thing that bothered me was despite a very diverse student body, there were few (if any) BIPOC or LGBTQ teachers or administrators. The school was definitely willing to support diverse student needs, but I wish there had been more diversity in the administration themselves. The school was very clean nearly constantly, and the teachers were some of the best I've ever had.
Plainfield is a very pretentious school where honors classes and such are heavily pushed. The stress and workload put upon students is unbelievable and the manner in which students are punished for circumstances that they often can't control aren't right. Many people, especially this year and given the circumstances of the pandemic, are struggling to keep their grades up because there aren't proper procedures put into place for those that cannot regularly attend be it no fault of their own.
