Almost all of the teachers I had over the four years were incredible. Extremely knowledgeable in the class content, always encouraging us to come in for extra help, & overall caring deeply about our wellbeing personally & academically. There were plenty of AP & honors opportunities to prepare us extremely well for college. The two major negative experiences I can think of is the competitiveness. They don’t do class ranking so by no means are they encouraging it, but there’s a lot of bragging about who takes the most AP courses or who is the most ahead in math or science. Also, diversity is very poor. They do their best to include all students & be an accepting community, but there have been difficulties & racist remarks made toward almost all students of color I know. The Diversity Club yearbook photo from 2019 was literally (not figuratively) 5 white kids

Sutherland provides countless opportunites to expand success and interest in all fields. I feel beyond prepared to continue my studies at college, due to the advanced courses offered, the pressure to perform well, and the immense amount of guidance given to all students by teachers and counselors. I am extremely grateful to have attended Sutherland.
Overall Pittsford Mendon High School has a great educational experience, one of the best in the nation. Mendon has many sports and clubs for many types of students. Although there is a lot to do, Mendon lacks in diversity. There have been a few minor instances of racism but overall, it is a safe school with almost no fighting. As for teachers, almost all the teachers are very helpful and teach at the highest level to help prepare us for regents and AP exams. Lastly, Mendon has made me ready for college academically and has provided me with the resources to do so.
