I enjoy the unique environment that the school has to offer. With a multitude of certain benefits that students are offered, there is a chance to improve using those benefits. Of course, there are some inconsistencies. The bathrooms could be improved and multiple damaged ceiling tiles could be repaired. In the end, the school has a wonderful community and staff that define what Pittsburg High School is

The district as a whole is not bad at all, however the high school is crooked in many aspects. The chief of police needs revision as well as the principal. In comparison to surrounding schools, the principal is very limiting to the students and the interaction. As an anecdote, I have had many students that transferred in come to me and describe the high school as a prison. The amount of projects and service learning that the students should be participating in is cut very short due to a very critical administration and ultimately this takes away from the high school experience.
My experience with Pittsburg Independent School District over the years of attending were excellent. I had wonderful teachers that pushed me to reach for the stars. I think that due to it being a small area that it really brings you close to your teachers, and fellow peers which makes you feel connected, as well as accepted. I loved that the most about the schooling in Pittsburg.
If I had to change anything it would just be dress code only because as a college student I see first hand that what the school thinks is a distraction, isn't. Teens have a hard time finding clothes in stores that are acceptable for school based off of dress code rules. I believe that as long as a student is not showing cleavage, or inappropriate parts students can learn. Cell phones are the biggest distractions not clothing, which should be allows at lunch or through passing periods just not class. Students need a break from all the work to unwind.
