Students don't seem to be pushed academically. High school students rarely have homework - which doesn't prepare them for college. Facilities are old and lacking and somewhat embarrassing for the students, and that should have been addressed in this past bond issue. The current high school students deserve a school they can be proud of, but they won't see any changes before they graduate.
Too much staff turnover because it seems that staff uses Piper as a stepping stone, not somewhere they want to stay for an entire career. Good teachers are leaving and being replaced with inexperienced teachers.
Athletics are being stifled by an incompetent athletic director.

I have been a student in the Piper community since Pre-K through my Senior Year. We are a smaller school district. Piper holds its students to very high standards in Career and College readiness, athletics, and community. Throughout my years I have always been involved in something..sports, choir, community service, and community activities. I believe that the experiences and education that I have received through Piper will help me to be a successful student at my preferred choice of Missouri Western State University where I plan to study Nursing and also run Cross Country and Track.
We love the Piper School District. Both of our students have been in the school district since kindergarten. We could not say enough about this great school district. I am never concerned for my children's safety and the teachers and school administrators care for each student. The only thing that I would change about this school district is awarding and celebrating student success on a grander scale (ie. 5th & 8th grade graduation ceremonies). The elementary and middle school principals are superb and we will continue to live in our home just to keep our children in this school district. That says a lot!
