Over the past four years, the high school has changed dramatically in the way administration is running the building. They do not do enough back round checks on the people they hire to work here and all of the teachers are either quitting or leaving. In the past two years we've had teachers cheat on their spouses at the school, and substitutes ask students their "body count". They shut down the library, now students don't have access to free books. It is also obvious that admin has favorites among the staff and its clearly visible in the way teachers are being treated.
In my time at Pilot Point High School, the school excels in social studies and science courses, while also exceeding in their athletic programs. Some improvements could be made to their selection of food choices and nutritional options. Overall, Pilot Point Independent School District provides a well rounded, positive atmosphere, with a very diverse set of ethnicities and races where everybody can belong.
Pilot point is a great small town. Even though it may seem like everyone don’t have a lot to offer, this town has some great culture in it that you may not find anywhere else in the surrounding areas. Pilot point high school is not only a great place in academics, receiving 6 out of 7 state distinctions, but it is a great place to be in socially. The extracurricular activities are limited as it is only a 3A school not anything big but sticking to the basics such as football, volleyball, basketball, band etc. Overall pilot point high school and pilot point as a whole are great places to be at and there is no place to me that will welcome you better than pilot point, Texas.
