Piedmont Public Schools Reviews
Piedmont High School was a very unique experience to say the least. As I entered my freshmen year of high school, I was very nervous about the environment I was getting into. Over time, my nerves disappeared as I made great friendships with students and teachers that I will never forget. Some of the greatest friendships that I had with my teachers were from my algebra, history, and English classes. Even to this day, I still keep in contact with some friends of mine through messages and voice chats. In general, the school environment allowed me to create unforgettable memories with wonderful students and staff members; thus, giving me a reason to always look back and be proud of how far I've come with their advice and judgement.
Piedmont is a small town going through a large population boom. The old school buildings have trouble accommodating its rapidly expanding student population. Construction at the high school had led to crowded halls, overfilled classrooms, and very limited space during lunch, which is held in the gym now. The range of classes to choose from a severely limited, yet most of the teachers are wonderful. It is a highly competitive school as far as academics go.
The Piedmont Public Schools make an effort to get students involved with activities either within school hours or through afterschool clubs. There are many different organizations to choose from, so everyone is able to find at least one thing to do. At least at Piedmont High School, there is a group of teachers that everyone loves and respects. They are relatable and add humor to the atmosphere, making students want to come to their class. I was never involved in sports, but the coaches here I've heard, have a great relationship with most of their students. This is my fifth year in the band and I can say that it's the best thing that has happened to me. The three directors and assistants have been incredibly influential on all of my classmates and there is a mutual respect across the field. We work as a team and everyone enjoys the time we put in, even when the hours are long and the weather is terrible. I would not be the person I am today had I not gone to Piedmont High School.
