Phoenix-Talent School District Reviews
Very kind teachers and staff, however funding and resources are lacking. Many classes have recently been cut due to a new policy in the area of open school borders. This means that students are allowed to attend any school in the are no matter what district they live in. Because the school receives funds based on the number of students, more students transferring to bigger schools means less funding.
When I went to school here I attended Armadillo Technical Institute from 7-12 and I truly believe that it was because of the faculty there that I completed high school and even went on to enroll into Oregon Tech. I was able to dual enroll at Phoenix high school for supplemental education which was truly profound for me as it required very little effort on my part. The surrounding area is pretty run down, but the past few years the local government has really been doing a great job with several large scale infrastructure projects.
The staff in the Phoenix-Talent School district have been the most caring and well trained group compared to other school districts I've attended. The programs encourage students to keep trying even if the fail and that it's never to late to learn and grow. I credit the district with my academic success and recommend this district to anyone moving to the area. Without the teachers, programs, activities, and leaders. These school would not be the same.
