Pflugerville Independent School District Reviews
Pflugerville Independent School District contains four different high school. They all have different school culture which helps to differentiate them from each other. Most students are very friendly with each other, even if they come from different schools. But the things with the school is that there is not enough for the students. The district is placed near a neighborhood that is still growing. There are more and more houses getting built. Even though Weiss High School just got built 3 years to accommodate this, there is still not enough space. It would be beneficial for the district to start thinking of building another one.
The only problem I have experienced in the district is in communication, in the sense not of what they consider to do involving changes but why. The district fails to communicate WHY they see the need to fix parts of the system that aren't broken. The camps also has a blocked mentality that every kid WANTS to go to college after they graduate. In some cases student already have a solid plan of where they want to go after high school, and its great that the school gives a lot of resources for college and test, but i disagree with the fact that they make these "choices" mandatory for every student, not taking into place their plan. Why should a student have the need to sign up for schools they know they don't want to got to, when they can spend that time dedicating themselves to the career they wish to follow.
As a student who lived in the Pflugerville Independent School District, it is clear to see that some of the administrators and teachers can be over the top when it comes to strictness. In my high school, the use of headphones got banned even if people were on their lunch break or in the library. It was kind of unnecessary. Some of the office people were also rude and at times had little understanding of situations of the students. Sometimes people need to be considerate when there are days where rain causes traffic and students will be tardy for school but it is out of the parent and students’ control. Not to mention how the drop off area needs to have someone there to tell people to move along instead of parking in the way of others.
