I have kids in elementary school and middle school, specifically at Carpenter ES and Bohls MS. They are both brand new schools, but the staff is amazing! I’ve substituted at both schools to get a feel for what type of environment my kids are in at the school (since parents cannot volunteer due to COVID). I’m happy with the quality of education, as well as their arts program, and the electives or extracurricular activities they provide for students (even at the elementary school).
The teachers who work here actually care, and are wonderful, the problem is the administration. They make rules and regulations that truly show they've never taught in a classroom or really worked with kids. They "care" about parents and what they want to see in the schools but when they ask those it affects (teachers and students), they will completely disregard their concerns and see only what they want to see. The material the teachers present (at the AP level at least) does very much help prep students with getting ready for college. I'm currently enrolled at the collegiate level and it's thanks to my teachers that I've been able to succeed thus far. The writing, math, and science departments have some true gems who do everything they can to advocate for their students to succeed as well.
Very Good School District! Amazing Sports and Facilities, Good Teachers that really want to help, just great overall.
