I think that there are some very impact people in this district. Since it is a smaller community, the staffing that really cares about their students really shines through which is a majority of them. Unfortunately the cooperate schooling system seems to minimally care about their students. They seem to seek approval of parents, more than they care for their students which comes into become quite a large issue. Though this fault lies within the system, the school has many beneficial education programs. They provide opportunities to get you ready for college, and even take some classes at colleges with free tuition. Surprisingly though the biggest flaw that lies within this educational system is within the sporting teams. The sports teams seem to receive a lot of the funding from the school board, whereas our speech and debate team could greatly benefit from more funds. The way the coaches emotionally manipulate students as well causes a large disruption among student life.
I enjoy my experience at Perry because the staff do a great job at keeping the students engaged in learning. They also have many options in terms of sports, classes, and career tech programs. Another thing I like about Perry is their counseling department because, in my personal experience, they have always been very helpful whenever I needed something. And that something ranged from emotional support to questions I had about the school.
I feel that Perry has prepared me for college. My main issues with this school are based on the way that the arts are treated. Our Speech Team, Theater Program, Bands, and Choirs are absolutely phenomenal we consistently outperform other schools in the area as well as the sports teams. Yet sports are still given more recognition and opportunities.
