The diversity at Pembroke Academy is lacking, especially amongst teachers. The support system here is weak at best and it is hard to find teachers that actually care enough to teach a student what they don’t understand. The guidance counselors are not a good resource for most students during college applications or any other problems in a student’s life. Overall, Pembroke Academy should take a good look at the teachers and leaders they employ. However, I should mention that many the students who attend this school are kind and compassionate beyond reason.
I like the smaller class sizes, with only about 300 students in each grade. It is very one on one based. Everyone knows each other fairly well. There is a good variety of classes. The sports programs are improving and there are plenty of clubs and after school activities to chose from.
It is a small school, so the class selection was limited. Most teachers were good though. There were lots of extra-curricular activities.
